MP Wants Probe of ICC Witnesses’ Coaches
Police and the Director of Public Prosecution’s office have been urged to investigate Kenyans behind the coaching of witnesses at the International Criminal Court.
Kuria West MP Mathias Robi said witnesses in the case against Deputy President William Ruto and journalist Joshua Sang said they were coached to give false testimony. Robi said the witnesses made the allegations under oath, which calls for investigations of perjury.
He called on police and DPP Keriako Tobiko to investigate who coached the witnesses. “The three Kenyans at the Hague face charges they can’t answer to because the witnesses were coached to give false statements,” Robi said at Nyamagagana Mixed Secondary School yesterday. He said President Uhuru Kenyatta and Ruto were targetted by political rivals in the fight for supremacy.
