I did not faint, says Wetang’ula CORD yesterday denied that co-principal Moses Wetangโ€™ula collapsed on a plane.ย  Wetangโ€™ula was taken to Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu yesterday morning with breathing problems after he landed at the Kisumu International Airport.

The Bungoma Senator was with Funyula MP Paul Otuoma in the plane that left Nairobi at 6.30am to Kisumu via Eldoret.ย  Cord leader Raila Odinga, who was among the coalition leaders to arrive at the Aga Khan Hospital, told journalists at the hospital that Wetangโ€™ula was โ€œfatigued due to extensive travelsโ€ as he had just returned from Morocco.

Raila said Wetangโ€™ula has been given a clean bill of health.ย  Otuoma said Wetangโ€™ula did not collapse in the plane but developed a breathing problem as the flight was about to touch down in Kisumu.

โ€œHe developed discomfort just as we were about to land and I notified the former PM, who organised for an ambulance that picked him from the airport,โ€ Otuoma said.

He said the Senator was jovial from Nairobi and did not complain of any illness.ย  โ€œIn fact, he walked to the waiting ambulance,โ€ Otuoma said.

Wetangโ€™ula said he had shortage of breath. He said his blood and sugar levels were tested and he was x-rayed before he was told to rest for two hours.

Wetangโ€™ula thanked Cord leaders for their quick response.ย  โ€œIf you want to know how many friends you have then pretend you are dead,โ€ he said.
