Touts to answer for stripping woman in a miniskirt
Touts to answer for stripping woman in a miniskirt

THE CID are investigating the stripping of a woman at the Embassava bus stop in Nairobi.

The woman was assaulted by men believed to be matatu touts, who said she was dressed indecently.

The men were caught on camera by a passer-by.

CID Chief Ndegwa Muhoro yesterday said they are looking into the matter.

There was uproar on social media yesterday after images of the incident were circulated.

The Jambonewspot website posted a video of the assault.

According to the website, she was passing by when the touts started cat-calling.

They accused her of dressing inappropriately and called her a “Jezebel”.

The touts said her dress was “tempting” them.

The woman pleaded for mercy but the men kicked her in her private parts.

Others roughed her up and tore her blouse.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Grace Kaindi condemned the attack on the woman.

She said stern action will be taken on the men who stripped the woman.

Matatu Owners’ Association chairman Simon Kimutai called on the police to take action. He said the management of Embassava should work with the police and kick out the criminals who have infiltrated the matatu terminus.
