Cord leader Raila Odinga is Wednesday set to attend two prayer meetings in Homa Bay County as he moves to stem divisions in ODM ahead of the February 12 senatorial by-election.
The meeting comes barely four days after Mr Odinga put out a strong endorsement for ODM nominee Moses Kajwangโ.
ODM Chairman John Mbadi Tuesday said the first inter-denominational prayer meeting ย was slated for Homa Bay Town at 1pm,ย followed by another at Kendu Bay at 3pm.
Earlier, the party leader will be among a host of leaders who will accompany Mr Kajwangโ as he presents his nomination papers toย the IEBC county returning officer, Mr Maurice Raria.
The visit by the ODM leader comes in the wake of the emergence of two camps: one supporting Mr Kajwang and another one opposed to his candidature.
The MPs allied to a section of defiant Cord candidates are led by Karachuonyo MP James Rege and his Rangwe counterpart, Mr George Oner, both whom areย emphatic that the by-election is a Homa Bay affair and โoutsidersโ should keep off.
Mr Mbadi termed the statements by his two colleagues as unfortunate.
