A woman has been arrested in Korogocho slums after killing three children, including her five-day old infant.
The 20-year old woman, Catherine Muthoni, went berserk at night after briefly displaying symptoms of depression days after giving birth via cesarean section.
Ms Muthoni, who was living with her sister-in-law, killed the infant using a kitchen knife and reportedly drank its blood.
According to her sister-in-law, Mary Wanjiru, the woman had woke her up in the middle of the night and asked her to prepare black tea.

“I told her that black tea is not good for her because she had just delivered via cesarean section. I offered to make her some soup instead,” she narrated.
Ms Muthoni took the soup and returned to sleep.
Ms Wanjiru says hours later, she woke up to find her sister-in-law cuddling the baby and looking seemingly confused.
Ms Wanjiru said she took the baby from her sister-in-law, laid it to sleep on the couch and went out to call neighbours.
“We came and found she had locked herself in the house. When we forced our way in, we found she had killed the baby using a knife and drank her blood,” said Ms Wanjiru.
Asked by the neighbours why she had killed her baby, the woman said the world had come to an end.
The woman then ran out and proceeded to kill two other children in the neighbourhood.
