THE National Assembly Public Accounts Committee chairman Ababu Namwamba has reiterated his commitment to fight corruption.
He said he is ready to lose the chairmanship of the watchdog committee to save the country from corruption. Namwamba said Kenyans should fearlessly fight corruption at the national and county level because growth in most sectors of the economy has been slowed down by graft. “Let us declare total war on corruption,” he said at the Busia Agricultural Training College during the opening of the first Busia County Investment Conference yesterday.
“My experience for the last one month has taught me that if you challenge corruption, it will fight back. Am ready to fight to the end even if this means losing my seat as Public Accounts Committee chairman.” The MP spoke days after appearing before the Powers and Privileges Committee to answer to corruption allegations levelled against him and members of PAC, which he heads.
