Vote for your favorite blogs in the Kenyan Blog Awards 2015

It’s that time of the year again. Where we discover new blogs and show support for the few we read on a regular basis. It’s time to vote for your favorite blogs in the 2015 BAKE Kenyan Blog Awards.

This comes after the Bloggers Association of Kenya (BAKE) release the list of nominees at the launch of the voting phase at Intercontinental Hotel Nairobi. The nominees were selected by a panel of judges comprising of bloggers and media personalities. The judges this year were Philip Mwaniki, Lynda Nyangweso, Mbugua Njihia, Joel Macharia and Ahmed Salim.

Voting is currently ongoing and will run till April 30th 2014.  At the launch of the voting phase, it was also revealed that Airtel Kenya have come on board as the gold sponsors of the awards

“We must support the ecosystem around our business & bloggers are part of our ecosystem, we are sponsoring the blog awards this year because we also believe in local content” said Adil El Youssefi, CEO Airtel Kenya at the voting phase launch.

“The Blog content creation in Kenya is growing and this is evident from the increase in nominations and voting numbers over time” said Kennedy Kachwanya, BAKE chairman.

This year marks the 4th edition of the awards which has grown in the last couple of years. More blogs are being submitted and coming in to the limelight. This year, we get to know a few more blogs since they have made it on to the list of nominees. The nominees are picked based on relevant content, regular posting and marketing.

Aside form Airtel, other sponsors of the awards include: Hivos Foundation, Intel, Xpose, and X News.
