Police say they had also threatened their two deputy head teachers after they were directed to accompany their parents to school last Thursday for failing to report to school on a daily basis.

The boys wrote a note to the school describing the day that the supposed attack was to take place.

They are said to have been missing school, prompting the two deputy head teachers to summon them together with their parents to address the issue.

โ€œNext week on Tuesday, Al-Shabaab will attack St Kizitoโ€ฆโ€ฆ warning to Mr Fudicha and Mrs Recho,โ€ the note reads.

ARRESTED ON MONDAY

Isiolo County Commissioner Wanyama Musiambo said the boys failed to attend school and would spend most of their time in a video den or in a cybercafรฉ while their parents thought they were in school.

Mr Musiambo said the boys were arrested on Monday evening and the investigating officers were making progress in their investigations.

โ€œThis is a dangerous scheme. We must find out the real intentions of these boys,โ€ said the county boss.

A spot check at the school revealed that activities were going on as usual.
