There was drama in Umoja Innercore estate over the weekend after a woman attempted to burn her former lover in his house following a messy break-up.
The man, said to be Kenya Defence Forces soldier, escaped death narrowly as he ran out stark naked from the raging flames that had engulfed his house.
Neighbours say the woman, a regular visitor of the man, was seen earlier standing outside the building accompanied by a friend.
The two women entered the flat and began knocking on the man’s door for several minutes. They then moved to the window and stood there for a while knocking to get the attention of the man inside.
Dissatisfied by the lack of response, the two held a brief discussion amongst themselves. Then one of them left and returned a few minutes later.
What followed was screams from the man inside as flames and smoke billowed from his house. Neighbours rushed in to extinguish the fire.
The man sustained burns on his face, back and arms. He was rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital for treatment.
The two women are said to have ran away and have not yet been arrested.
