Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka on Friday said he will not quit the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party over a recent confrontation with Dr Oburu Odinga.
Instead, the MP said he would fight for democracy in the party.
Addressing mourners during the burial of Homa Bay-based lawyer Martin Oseko in Musero in his constituency, Mr Onyonka took issue with leaders questioning his loyalty to the party.
โI am in ODM to stay and no amount of intimidation will force me out,โ he said.
Mr Onyonka remarks follows an exchange he had with Dr Oginga, who is a nominated MP, during the grilling of Devolution Cabinet Secretary Ms Anne Waiguru over National Youth Service (NYS) saga.
During the session before a joint Finance and Labour Committees of the National Assembly on Tuesday, Mr Onyonka told Dr Oginga that as nominated MP, he had no moral authority to lecture elected lawmakers.
Dr Oginga was furious over an attempt by Mr Onyonka to drag Cord leader Raila Odingaโs name into the matter.
Mr Odinga has repeatedly called for suspension of Ms Waiguru over the NYS scandal.
