Members of the public also walked to Roysambu from the CBD and Kasarani after protesters dumped banana stems and burned tyres on the road.

The governor said Sh500 million has been assigned to repairing the dilapidated road and that the exercise will begin in less than 10 days.

He asked Kura to fast-track the procurement process saying motorists need not be inconvenienced.

The protest caused a major traffic snarl up.
