RICHMOND (Covering Katy) – One man is dead and another escaped injury after their vehicle went off the Grand Parkway and into a creek early Sunday morning. The accident happened around 6 a.m. on Highway 99 near Owens Road in Richmond.
“The passenger was asleep and awoke to the air bags going off,” said Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Deputy Danny Beckworth.
Both men got out of the car through the sunroof but the driver never made it to shore.
Beckworth says the men were returning from a club and an autopsy on the driver’s body will determine if alcohol played a factor. The names of the men have not yet been released but they are described as 36 to 37 year old black males.
