Uhuru, Ruto pick regional point men

Uhuru -RutoIt has emerged that in the meetings, key point men are identified to sell Jubilee and woo more supporters to the ruling coalition. On Thursday the DP hosted political and community leaders from the Abagusii community at his Sugoi home in Uasin Gishu county.

In Western, Jubilee is said to have picked Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka, Water and Irrigation CS Eugene Wamalwa and former Cabinet minister Noah Wekesa as the key point men. Other leaders are drawn from Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, Vihiga, Busia and Kakamega.

They include MPs Benjamin Washiali (Mumias East), John Waluke (Sirisia), David Were (Matungu), Arthur Odera (Teso North) Mary Emasee (Teso South), Dan Wanyama (Webuye West), Reginalda Wanyonyi (Bungoma), Janet Nangabo (Trans Nzoia) and Bungoma deputy Governor Hillary Chongwony. Also on the Jubilee list are former Cabinet minister Musikari Kombo, former MPs Joash Wamang’oli, Raphael Wanjala, MCAs and opinion leaders.

In the South Nyanza region, other than former Cabinet minister Simeon Nyachae, Jubilee has identified MPs Jimmy Angwenyi (Kitutu Masaba), Joel Onyancha (Bomachoge Borabu), Stephen Manoti (Bobasi), Richard Onyonka (Kitutu Chache-South), Elijah Mondi (Nyaribari Masaba), Richard Tongi (Nyaribari Chache), Zebedeo Opore (Bonchari), Hosea Ochwang (nominated Senator) and Kisii deputy Governor Joash Maangi. “As a community we want to assure you that we will not be left behind.

We are ready to embrace the new Jubilee Party,” said Onyonka when he read resolutions on behalf of the leaders. “We have learnt from our mistakes and we will not afford to remain out of the government come the next elections. We are putting our house in order so that we become part and parcel of the Jubilee Party,” Onyonka said on Thursday, promising to mobilise people from the Kisii and Nyamira counties to join the Jubilee Party. Jubilee has Governor Okoth Obado as its main man in Migori county.
