kimemia,Kosgey and AliNairobi: President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed former Secretary to the Cabinet Francis Kimemia, former Tinderet MP Henry Kosgey and former postmaster-General Hussein Ali to chair key boards in the country.

Kimemia, who lost his job after after his name featured in the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) corruption list, will be chair of Industrial and Commercial Development Corporation.

Kimemia thanked the president for the appointment and termed it an endorsement for both him and the people of Nyandarua County.

“This is a good move and I will work hard to ensure industrial development in the country as a whole,” said Kimemia after the appointment.

Kimemia replaces Martin Kariuki Muragu whose appointment has been revoked.

Kosgey and Ali will Chair of the Tourism Fund and the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) Co-ordination Board respectively.

They will hold the positions for a period of three years.

The announcements were made in a gazette notice dated March 17, 2016.

Others who have been appointed include businessman Chris Kirubi who will be Non-Executive Chairperson of the Brand Kenya Board, Jimmy Kariuki to chair Kenya Tourism Board, Joshua Nyamweya Oigara (Energy Regulatory Commission), Francis Baya (Kenya Literature Bureau), Paul Tergat (Kenya Academy of Sports Council) and Ronald Osumba to be Non-Executive Chairperson of the Youth Advisory Board.

These appointments add to the list of those made by President Uhuru in the past few days, with the recent ones being of Government Spokesman Eric Kiraithe and Deputy State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita.
