The father of six argued that he was a first-time offender, therefore, should be pardoned.

However, Magistrate Ochoiย ruled that the accusedย pays a Sh30,000 fine failure to which he would serve a three-month jail term.

In May, another vehicle belonging to the Opposition leader wasย hit after CORD protesters engaged police officers in running battles with a section of supporters claiming that the windscreen had been cracked by a bullet.

The former Prime Minister indicated that he was not sure what hit the vehicle as he was not driving in it during the incident.
