President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto seemed all too keen to ditchย the trappings of power during Jubilee Partyโs lavish mega launch at the Kasarani stadium on Saturday.
In all, it turned out to be an expensiveย affairย sprinkled with showbiz and flair.
High profile musicians were also in attendance, and they didnโt disappoint, keeping the tens of thousands of supporters attached to Kenyaโs brand new political party thoroughly entertained.
For starters, President Kenyatta and his number two both turned out for this event without their official motorcade.
ULULATION
The duo arrived amidstย cheers and ululation from their supporters atop Jubilee party branded SUVs that bore specialized โJubileeโ numbers and escorted by a fleet of four wheel drive vehicles all through the expansive Thika road highway leading to the venue.
This move and decision were both interpreted to imply this was more of a private event other than a formal one.
Whatโs more, both Kenyatta and Ruto were dressed in more relaxed gear which bore heavy semblance and colour to the Jubilee partyโs red theme colour.
CHEERFUL MOOD
The President in a visibly in cheerful mood, was arguably the most casual of the two principals, donning a fashioned faded light blue jeans, and jacket.
Notably, Uhuruโs aide-de-camp was nowhere in sight although the battery of under cover operatives was too heavy to be ignored.
The five-hour event endedย at exactly 4:30pm following an elaborate presidential speech, which had been preceded by a host of defections โwelcomed homeโ by Ruto.
