-KANU chairman Gideon Moi seemed to have changed his mind on the contentious electoral laws.
– The senate passed the amendments and Moi reportedly voted in favour
– He previously rubbished the amendments saying the voting system should be electronic
KANU Chairman and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi reportedly voted in favour of amendments to election laws.
An image making rounds on social media depicting votes of the members of the senate on the electoral laws show Moi voted in favor of the amendments.
During the debate, Moi described the bill as acrimonious and acceptable saying using a manually system is like smoking bhang next to a police station.
The image however shows he voted in favor of the contentious electoral laws.
On Saturday, 31, 2016 the KANU chairman rubbished the plan by the Jubilee to revert to the manual voting system saying the mode must be electronic.
During the debate, 26 Jubilee senators voted for the bill while only 10 from the opposition voted against it.
The opposition has been claiming that introducing manual backup during the election was a recipe to rig the polls in favour of Jubilee.
