– The burial of former MP has been stopped again
– The former MP’s lawyer has stopped the burial claiming he was assassinated
– A woman had previously stopped the burial demanding her son’s participation in the arrangements before withdrawing
The burial of the former MP Mark Too has been halted by an Eldoret court on Friday, January 6.
The court issued the orders after lawyer Simon Lilan filed a case seeking an independent investigation into his death.
The lawyer argued that the politician may have been murdered which is why his burial is being hurried.
“I cannot rest until I know Mark Too was not assassinated that is all i want the truth. There is nothing wrong with knowing the truth,” said Lilan while speaking to journalists.
The lawyer has sued Too’s second wife, the burial committee, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, the Attorney General and the Lee Funeral home.
Chief magistrate Nicodemus Moseti ordered the case to be hears inter-parties on January 12.
The fresh new orders comes just hours after a woman withdrew a case where she had stopped the burial demanding her son’s inclusion in the arrangements.
Mark too died on December 31 after a short illness while receiving treatment at St. Lukes hospital in Eldoret.
