Jubilee to nominate Uhuru, Ruto for presidential election Saturday
NAIROBI, Kenya, May 4 – The Jubilee Party will hold a Special National Delegates Convention (NDC) on Saturday at the Bomas of Kenya, following the just concluded nomination exercise.
The aim of the meeting will be to take stock of the party’s unity following the grueling primaries that saw many aspirants defecting to vie as independent candidates.
“Take note that pursuant to Article 7.1 (2) (c) and 7.1 (4) of the Jubilee Party constitution, a meeting of the National Delegates Convention shall be convened at 10am on May 6 at the Bomas of Kenya to discuss the nomination of candidates at the Presidential election to be held in August,” an announcement in the local dailies reads.
According to party Secretary General Raphael Tuju, the convention will be attended by all sitting governors, MPs, senators, woman representatives and MCAs.
Tuju stated that all members of the National Governing Council and all newly nominated aspirants will also be present during the event.
