A lasting solution was unveiled by Africa Welfare Association (AWA). In the event of a member’s passing AWA will cover all expenses associated with repatriation to their respective home countries. AWA launched their campaign in March 2017 during the USA Sevens Rugby in Las Vegas, a sporting event widely attended by ~10K Kenyans. The Kenyan Ambassador to the United States of America, His Excellency Robinson Githae, presided over the Meet & Greet Welcome Ceremony (Karibu Night) hosted by Kenyans Connect.

AWA services lessen the financial burden families/friends/communities are faced with in the event of a member’s death. For a nominal membership fee the full repatriation package includes:
- Mortician & morgue services in both the host and home country.
- Roundtrip airfare travel for member spouse and children under 18 years.
- $2,000 payout assistance for incidental expenses related to the burial (for repatriation only)
- $15,000 in coverage towards burial or cremation expenses in host country.
