Police: Explicit video of Kirinyaga deputy governor strange to us
The police have denied claims that an explicit video of Kirinyaga deputy governor Peter Ndambiri doing rounds on social media was reported to them.
In a post on Twitter, the National Police Service said the video is strange to them as is the alleged statement.
“Police have not received any report concerning an alleged assault of the Deputy Governor of Kirinyaga County in Kakamega. Equally, the Police Spokesman has not issued any statement concerning the same,” a tweet from their official account, @NPSOfficial_KE reads.
The video shows the deputy governor nude, being assaulted by several men, for sleeping with a woman who is allegedly married.
Though one of the men had apparently been identified as the husband, unconfirmed reports have emerged that the woman, together with her accomplices in the video, may have conned the deputy governor.
Governors and some of their deputies are currently in Kakamega for the devolution conference.
Meanwhile, Atheists in Kenya are demanding the resignation of the deputy governor citing a breach of the Constitution.
In a statement sent to newsrooms, the atheists say the video raises serious moral issues in regards to standards leaders should set for the country.
“We find it disturbing that Kenyans are so obsessed with sex scandals…We condemn the manner in which the goons harassed both the Deputy Governor for Kirinyaga and the woman at their hotel room…
“Nevertheless, in line with Chapter Six of our Constitution ( Leadership and Integrity), we ask the Deputy Governor to immediately resign,” the statement reads in part.
