VIDEO: Why Raila is trending at the Devolution Conference in Kakamega

Opposition Chief Hon Raila Odinga gave a keynote speech at the 5th Annual Devolution Conference in Kakamega addressing transparency and good governance.

Even before making his keynote address, the former premier received praises from the speakers who addressed the gathering ahead of him including Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka, Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, and Kisii Senator Sam Ongeri.

The speakers were celebrating Hon Odinga for taking part in the famous handshake he had with President Uhuru Kenyatta in March this year.

The speakers deemed the gesture a move that went a long way into seeing to it that the leaders across the political divide worked together.

CS Wamalwa even joked about how the handshake helped cooldown the bad blood between Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and his nemesis Nelson Marwa, now PS in the Devolution Ministry

The ODM Party leader was awarded the African horn, a traditional instrument used to welcome people for participatory gatherings.
