President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday departed for Ethiopia for a state visit that will see him participate in the South-Sudan peace process.
President Kenyatta was seen off by Chief of defence Forces Samson mwathethe, National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale, Interior CS Fred Matiangi, among other senior government leaders.
Keen observers, however, were quick to note the absence of Deputy President William Ruto.
Kenyans were quick to ask the President to explain his deputy’s whereabouts, while others responded with messages wishing President Kenyatta a safe journey.
“Cant see the deputy Ruto what happening” Franklin Frank commented.
“Things fall apart …where’s our king Ruto the future president…” Eric Muriithi responded.
As the repeated questions kept coming up, one user offered an explanation, “Ruto is now in the state house fully in control! He needs not to see off the President but instead to fill the vacuum left! Bravo WSR for being there for the ordinary Kenyan!“.
Pulselive.co.ke, however, established that the DP is on a working tour at the coast hence his absence from the see-off entrourage.
