Ethiopian Airline Crash: Support For Derick Lwugi’s Family

On March 10th, Ethiopian Flight 302 crashed tragically taking the lives of all 157 people on board. Derick Lwugi was on his way to Kenya to visit his parents aboard that flight.ย  He leaves behind his wife, Gladys and three children.

Derick was beloved in his community and never hesitated to support those around him. Derick was the founder of the Kenyan Community in Calgary group, volunteer assistant pastor, board member of the non-profit Abeingo Association Canada and an accountant at the City of Calgary.

His widow Gladys is a domestic violence counsellor and their children are students and non-profit workers.

We are raising money to help this family cover the costs associated with losing Derick so suddenly.

This amazing, loving and spiritual family always puts others first, going above and beyond the call of duty.ย  They treat everyone as their own family and hold community very close.

In this time of need we are asking for your thoughts, prayers and donations to help lift the financial burden of such a sudden loss. The costs associated with the sudden loss of Derick’s income, short-term day-to-day living expenses, unanticipated costs, and ensuring the family is able to meet their basic needs as they adjust to this massive loss are the focus of this Go Fund Me campaign.
