On Friday, June 6, 2025, at the age of 29, Kipsang suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, Washington.
Despite the valiant efforts of medical staff, they were unable to revive him, and he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Kipsang was a standout athlete at the University of Alabama, where he made significant contributions to the track and field and cross-country teams.
He was known for his exceptional performances, including setting a collegiate record in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:33.74 at the Bryan Clay Invitational in 2022.
His accolades also include being named the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Outdoor Track and Field Runner of the Year in 2022.
Kipsang was a beloved figure in the athletics community, admired for his dedication, sportsmanship, and the promise he showed as a rising star.
