Monday October 8, 2012 – Foreign Affairs Minister Prof Sam Ongeri and Assistant Minister Wilfred Ombui have Joined Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta’s bandwagon The National Alliance (TNA).
Ongeri who is the Nyaribari Masaba MP and his North Mugirango counterpart announced their bid to defect from KANU to TNA on Sunday, where they said TNA has a national appeal compared to other parties.
Ombui said he is Uhuru’s current pointman in Nyamira County and soon he will officially join TNA.
This is a major boost for Uhuru’s presidential bid, especially in Nyanza region which is Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s backyard.
The two are set to officially join the party at party headquarters in Nairobi, this week.
Others who have joined the TNA over the weekend are Higher Education Assistant Minister Dr Kilemi Mwiria and Maendeleo ya Wanawake Chairperson Rukia Subow.
