Video: Kenyan film “A Small Act” to air on US Cable TV beginning this weekend
Can one small act dramatically change the entire course of another person’s life? Chris Mburu was the top student in his Kenyan village, but without money for school fees, he had little hope of a future — until Hilde Back, a Swedish teacher, sponsored his early education.
Unknowingly, her tiny contribution paved the way for Mburu to go all the way to Harvard Law School. Today he is a Human Rights officer for the United Nations.
A SMALL ACT follows Mburu’s efforts to honor his benefactor, give back to his community and continue the cycle of sponsorship. His show of gratitude and his belief in the transformative power of education have lasting implications for the world at large.
With clarity and grace, A SMALL ACT, bears witness to the ripple effect one singular action can have.
The film will air on DIRECTV Channel 375 and DISH Network Channel 9410 on Saturday, January 26th at 7pm and a re-run at 10pm; Sunday, January 27th at 11am and Wednesday, January 30th at 05.am. All times are CST
