The newly-formed Nyanza Patriotic Front yesterday said it is ready to work with president-elect Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

Led by former Rangwe MP Shem Ochuodho, the group congratulated Uhuru and said its time for Kenyans to reconcile and work together.

“The voice of Kenyans is strong. They have spoken. We have to accept and work with the elected leaders.” Ochuodho said. He was speaking at a Nairobi Hotel where he hosted Nyanza leaders.

They declared they will work towards ensuring peace. “It is the constitutional right of every Kenyan to seek redress in court. But it is our view that dialogue and peace should prevail,” Ochuodho said. They said they have urged Uhuru to address historical injustices.

Presidential candidate Mohamed Dida’s running mate Joshua Onono said he met Uhuru and Prime Minister Raila Odinga and urged them to accept the Supreme Court’s verdict.
