NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 7 โ Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero was on Saturday morning involved in a road accident in Kisii as he was trying to avoid a head on collision with another vehicle.
Eyewitnesses said Kideroโs Range Rover swerved to avoid hitting an oncoming Probox when it rolled several times and landed on its roof.
Luckily he and his driver escaped with minor injuries.
Kidero was headed to Homa Bay County where he had been invited as the Guest of Honour at the Asumbi Catholic Mission, which is celebrating its platinum jubilee.
The vehicle was towed to Keumbu police station.

Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero was involved in a car accident on December 7, 2013, while traveling to Homa Bay County.
His Range Rover swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle, causing it to roll several times and land on its roof. Fortunately, both Kidero and his driver escaped with minor injuries.
Despite the accident, Kidero proceeded to attend the Asumbi Catholic Mission’s platinum jubilee celebrations in Homa Bay, where he had been invited as the Guest of Honour.
In a separate incident on June 30, 2023, Kidero’s driver and bodyguard were involved in a tragic accident at Londiani Junction along the Nakuru-Kericho highway.
A trailer lost control and rammed several vehicles, resulting in over 50 fatalities. Kidero’s aides were in one of the affected vehicles but survived the ordeal.
He expressed gratitude for their safety and extended condolences to the families of the victims.
