The Communications Secretary at the Office of the Deputy President David Mugonyi was on Tuesday night carjacked along Dennis Pritt road in Kilimani.
Nairobi County Police commander Benson Kibue said that Mr Mugonyi was waiting for his gate to be opened when four men confronted him, three of them armed with pistols.
He said they took control of his Toyota Prado and drove with him towards the city centre.
They later abandoned him at Mlolongo after robbing him of Sh120, 000, mobile phones and other personal effects.
Mr Kibue said the Communications Secretary was slightly injured on the face.
KARIOBANGI SUSPECTS
Mr Kibue also said that police in Kariobangi shot dead a suspected robber and recovered a home-made firearm.
Three suspects had attacked a passenger who had alighted from a matatu at the Kariobangi roundabout.
Officers on patrol responded to a distress call by the passenger and shot dead one of the robbers as the rest escaped.
The city has witnessed a surge in carjacking, especially at the gates of residences.-nation.co.ke
