Mahatma Gandhi once said
“A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of history.” How true!
Most of us in the diaspora are out for one purpose, either study or any other business, and that is all. We are neutral in our current locations, after all, it is not our permanent home and after our term is served we’ll go back home. Does that sound like you?
Well, I believe that we are not where we are by chance. And we should endeavor to leave wherever we are better than we found it. Â Do something for that community around you, just create an impact. Don’t be neutral.
I’ll share with you the story of one  Pastor Sunday Sunkami Adelaja, who at 19 years old got a scholarship in 1986 to study in the former USSR. This is one man, who chose not to be neutral, regardless. He did not like what he saw around him, he saw the need for change, and did something about it. He walked the streets to speak to the drunkards and prostitutes, though it took time, many changed their lives and now have a life. Currently, He Pastors one of the Largest churches in Europe, Embassy of God for All Nations; with a 99% European congregation! Isn’t that awesome! He did not let the color of his skin, neither the language barrier limit what he could do. He has changed lives, just by taking one step, to change his world, or rather create the world he wanted to see.
You and I too can touch lives, we don’t have to be pastors. Inside us is something we are good at, use it to touch the lives around you, just do something. And history will have it, that you helped make the world better place.
Though facing many challenges as a foreigner and alleged accusations, Pastor Sunday Adelaja does not loose the focus. His aim is to change lives, help people change their mindset and be what God has called them to be. This year marks 20 years after He started his mission in Ukraine. Words alone will not say it all. But this 20th anniversary video will tell you something; everyone can be a success, wherever, whenever, Just be determined and Go for it! With God ALL things are possible.
The world is waiting for YOU; I mean Us, in the diaspora.
