Kenya’s resolve to look elsewhere in to salvage an ailing tourism industry has turned to Nigeria in the hope to woo potential visitors. Cabinet Secretary for East African Affairs, Commerce and Tourism Phyllis Kandie has led a delegation of the sector’s stakeholders including the Kenya Tourist Board and private players on a three-day mission to market the country.

The delegation will meet with their Nigerian travel and trade counterparts in Lagos and Abuja. โ€œAs we embrace intra-Africa tourism, West Africa is one of the regions that we seek to tap into. We believe the market has people of high net-worth with a willingness to spend,” Kandie said in a statement.
