Kenyan Woman Killed by Train in Ohio
The Franklin County sheriff’s office has identified a woman struck and killed by a train in Sharon Township yesterday as an Ohio State University student.
Maj. Steve Tucker said that Victoria Muchiri, 22, a biology major, likely committed suicide. She stood in front of a Norfolk Southern train about 1:30 a.m., and engineers said she didn’t move as the train approached the crossing on Park Road, north of Campus View Boulevard.
Muchiri was from West Liberty in Logan County but had been living locally, Tucker said. Her car was found in a nearby parking lot with her cellphone inside.
