A Kenyan Lady Has Passed Away In Birmingham, Uk. It is with humble acceptance of God’s will, that we announce the death of Ceciliah Muthoni Spencer of Gathuthi village, Thegenge location, Nyeri County. This occurred on 8th February 2015 in the UK after a short illness. She was the wife of the Late Norman Spencer. She was the Mother to Susan Wairimu and Malcolm Richard Mathenge and his partner to Zoe Louise.

She was the Mother-in-law to Robert Kuhanga, and a proud grandmother (Cucu) to Zac Elliott Spencer. They are all here in the UK.   She was the daughter of the Late Jeremiah Kingori and the Late Peris Nyagichuhi. Dear Sister to Gladyce Wambui Muriithi, the Late Rhodah Nyamuhito Kiringa, and the Late Isaiah Njoora.

Her siblings also include Junius Waturi Muthui, the Late Amos Maina, and Tabitha Murugi Kingori (of S&O). Additionally, her siblings are Stephen Theuri, Joshua Warugongo, the late Jospeph Maingi, and Loise Wanjiru Kingori.

The funeral church service will be held in the UK in Bolton on  Friday 20th of February 2015. All those wishing to attend can gather at the Deceased house in Kearsley, Bolton (84 BL4 8JA) at  12pm . From there, a procession will take Ceciliah a short distance to her own local parish church Kearsley Mount Methodist Church at  1pm (BL4 8QL). Thereafter, a committal service at  4pm will follow at the Overdale Crematorium in Bolton (BL1 5BU).

A Celebration of her life will be held back at the Kearsley Mount Methodist Church. Light refreshments will be served. This is where her immediate family asks anyone who knew her to share a few precious memories with them at this point. All those who knew her or the family are more than welcome to attend. African attire or brightly colored clothes is the preferred dress code.

She was an “adopted mum and grandmother” to many especially within the African community and we will miss her greatly.
