Scovia Atieno Amimo was featured in this paper recounting how she was dumped on the eve of her wedding by her alleged German fiancé in 2012.
However, in an unexpected twist, another man, this time a Swiss, told The Nairobian that Scovia he too was married to Atieno and that she is a fraudster.
“An African woman walked into the bar and headed straight to our table and introduced herself as Sophie,” claims Alfred Moosberger adding, “She later invited me to her apartment and even introduced me to her son.”
The Swiss said, “She kept asking for money, and before long, I was paying her rent,” They got married a year later says Moosberger, adding that by then, he had invested in a restaurant and two plots in Mtwapa where construction of their home was ongoing. They wedded in Switzerland in 2001 and lived ther till November 2003 when they returned to Kenya., the Swiss alleges
“She started selling things like generators, freezers, bar stools and even my car,” he alleges, adding that his ‘wife’ also started withdrawing money from their account without consulting him.
“Scovia started disappearing from the house and leaving me with her son for up to six months. According to Moosberger, when he confronted her, she turned violent and hit him with a mop.
“She even broke my nose which had to be reconstructed in Switzerland,” claims Moosberger. He adds that, “I engaged a Swiss lawyer to handle the divorce and lost the title for the property. She stole everything from the house which we had to sell and split the money.” Contacted by The Nairobian over Moosberger’s allegations, Scovia said she divorced a long time ago and that she had already moved on with her life. She claimed that all she got from the divorce settlement was a paltry 1.1 million which was not much since she allegedly had to settle a Sh600,000 legal fee for the divorce case.
“I wish we never left Switzerland, we were so happy there until we came back here and my husband met that airline porter he got married to. That woman ruined my marriage, attempted to kill me and is doing everything to make my life miserable,” Scovia claimed.
