Raila receives hostile reception in Nakuru:Tension was high in Nakuru Town Saturday afternoon as rowdy youths started throwing stones around a hotel where opposition Cord leader Raila Odinga was holding a meeting with various leaders.

Chanting slogans, the youth engaged police in running battles after they attempted to disrupt Mr Odinga’s meeting at a Nakuru hotel.

They clashed with Mr Odinga’s supporters at the hotel, forcing police to use teargas canisters to disperse them.

It is not clear whether the Cord rally that Mr Odinga was to lead on Saturday afternoon at Kaptembwa Grounds will still take place.

 The protesters displayed anti-Raila slogans.
