A bodaboda operator was on Thursday arraigned in a Mombasa Court for allegedly blocking Deputy PresidentWilliam Ruto’s motorcade at Changamwe roundabout.

The man identified as Naul Abdulauz Abdalla was accused of refusing to stop when he was flagged down by a traffic officer to clear the road for Ruto’s convoy that was heading to the Mombasa State House from Moi International Airport, on Wednesday night.

Mr Abdalla asked the court to forgive him but stated he was not guilty of the offence.

“It is true your honour but I was confused and I did not know what was happening,” Abdalla was quoted by a local broadcaster.

Mombasa Senior Resident Magistrate Martin Rabera directed the suspect be released on a Sh5000 cash bail.

The case will be heard on August 30.
