A bodyguard attached to Speaker Justin Muturi was on Saturday shot dead by his colleague at his Nairobi home.
Gigiri OCPD Vitalis Otieno confirmed the 2am incident at Muturi’s Thigiri Ridge house.
According to reports, Muturi and the family were absent when the officer took the life of his colleague.
Senior police officers who visited the scene of crime said there were signs of a scuffle between the two officers but it was unclear what caused the fatal fight.
Otieno said they will interrogate the officer who was arrested to give more details of what transpired between the two.
An early examination on the body of the deceased revealed that the deceased was shot three times on the chest.
Neighbours said they first heard shouting and commotion in the compound followed by the shooting.
The body was moved to a mortuary in the city while the suspect remained in custody for further questioning.
