It was a beautiful Sunday for Kilifi ACK Bishop Lawrence Dena after President Uhuru Kenyatta delivered on a promise he made a while backโฆ a sparkling new Toyota Prado TX.
The car, valued at about Sh5 million, was presented by Jubilee Kilifi gubernatorial candidateย Gideon Mungโaroย and received at ACK St Thomas Memorial byย Ven Captain Reuben Katite, in front of a cheering congregation.
After receiving the gift, church ministers prayed for Uhuruโs re-election next week, and also for a peaceful election exercise.

Dena was born in Rabai. He was educated at the Teachers College in Kericho and the Nairobi International School of Theology. He was ordained in 1994 in Mombasa, and served at St. Augustine Mombasa. In 2003 he became a Canon at All Saints’ Cathedral, Nairobi. He was consecrated Assistant Bishop of Mombassa in 2005.[3] He was Provincial Secretary to Archbishop Benjamin Nzimbi from 2006 to 2009. He is Chairman of the All Africa Conference of Churches.
Bishop Lawrence Kavutsu Dena was installed as bishop of the Diocese in Malindi which was led by Anglican Primate in Kenya Archbishop Eliud Wabukala at a colourful ceremony filled with Anglican faithful on Sunday.
The faithful and priests at the ceremony came from Malindi, Kilifi, Tana River and Lamu counties, which are included in the new diocese.
