NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 11 โ€“ Former President Daniel arap Moi Sunday morning flew to Israel for a medical check-up.

The doctors of the former president have booked him in a hospital in Tel Aviv where they are eager to have a second opinion on his knee, which has been a source of discomfort according to sources close to the family.

The former Head of State is accompanied by his son, Senator Gideon Moi and physician Dr David Silverstein.ย

When Daniel arap Moi went to Israel for medical check-up

โ€‹Former Kenyan President Daniel arap Moi passed away on February 4, 2020, at the age of 95.

Prior to his death, he had been experiencing health challenges, including knee issues stemming from a 2006 accident and subsequent surgeries.

โ€‹On Sunday, March 11, 2018, former Kenyan President Daniel arap Moi traveled to Israel for a medical check-up.

He was accompanied by his son, Senator Gideon Moi, and his personal physician, Dr. David Silverstein.

The primary reason for the trip was to seek a second opinion on his knee, which had been causing him discomfort .โ€‹

While in Israel, Moi underwent a series of medical assessments at Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv. According to reports, he responded positively to treatment and was in high spirits . Before returning to Kenya, he visited historical sites in Jerusalem .โ€‹

Moi returned to Kenya on March 17, 2018, and was reported to be in good health and high spirits .โ€‹
