Political Leaders Respond

Several Members of Parliament (MPs) and political figures weighed in on the incident. Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria suggested that Ndambiri had been targeted by an extortion ring, urging him to report the matter to the police .

National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale remarked that Ndambiri might have avoided the situation by securing his hotel room, while Deputy Whip Cecily Mbarire emphasized that Ndambiri should have resisted the individuals recording him.

Ndambiri’s Response

Ndambiri denied any extramarital affair, claiming the incident was a setup by fraudsters aiming to extort money from him. He apologized to his wife, children, and the people of Kirinyaga for the embarrassment caused.

Public and Legal Reactions

The Kenya Film and Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Ezekiel Mutua condemned the recording and circulation of the video, describing it as a violation of human rights and likening it to terrorism .

The National Police Service stated that they had not received any reports concerning the alleged assault and were investigating the matter.

The incident sparked a broader debate about privacy, morality, and the conduct of public officials in Kenya.
