VIDEO: Kenyan MP Loses Nephew in Arusha Car Race Accident

Kirinyaga Women Representative Purity Ngirici has revealed that his nephew was among the Kenyans who were killed on Sunday in an accident near Arusha, Tanzania, during a car racing event.

Taking to her social media accounts, Ngirici eulogised her nephew, who she identified as Robin, as a young man of virtue.

“The cruel hand of death has snatched my beloved Nephew Robin who perished from the Arusha Namanga accident.

“Robin was a Young man of virtue. I recall with nostalgia his passion for everything his mindset to do,” the legislator mourned.

She added that Robin was a sociable bubbly gentleman, who like any other young person had great dreams for his future.

“Rest in eternal peace, my dear nephew. You will be fondly missed,” she posted.

According to reports by the local media, 8 Kenyans are believed to have lost their lives in the accident which took place in Ol Donyo Sambu, 25km from Arusha town.

The unofficial racing competition was dubbed “The Arusha Drive 3.0” and had attracted racers from both Kenya and Tanzania.

The event scheduled between April 19 and 21, 2019, was being advertised under the tagline “The roads will never be the same again”.

Photos seen by Kenyans.co.ke showed the lifeless bodies of some of the participants lying next to the mangled wreckage of their cars.
