“High and Mighty” walk into the cells? A new Kenya in deed
Your dreams are still valid; Now is the Time!
“High and Mighty” walk into the cells? A new Kenya in deed: Your dreams are still valid-Now is the Time! I love the positivity that comes with making new experiences, new friends, starting new endeavors and even beginning a new year. The standards we set are always high (a majority) and the plans we have very exciting. From new year resolutions to political manifestos, the zeal with which we start is immeasurable. Then something happens and we can’t figure out where exactly we stand.
The year is in its 2nd last quarter and looking back at the resolutions I had made for the year, I’m far from where I wanted to be. I may be alone in this, but if you are riding in the same boat, there is hope for us. It is a world of possible impossibilities.
Looking back also are achievements we had not factored or planned for. So instead of focusing on what we have not achieved yet, it is good to appreciate how far we have come and the little steps made. Looking at the Kenyan government for instance, there are many undelivered promises to Kenyans but we can’t be blind to the slight improvements. Just yesterday, arrests were for the low profiles and unheard of names. Isn’t it surprising to see the “high and mighty” walk into the cells? That’s a new Kenya.
There is corruption. There is injustice. There is poverty, name them all. But there is change also. We have failed, lagged behind or are even at a standstill but we have learned. There’s always something good worth appreciating. It is not yet too late to make some adjustments. As the adage goes that time is always ripe to do good, I’ll add that the time is always right to change for the better. The time we have lost is gone, what matters now is what we do with what is left.
Your dreams are still valid. Your goals are still achievable and we serve a God of second chances.
“If you gotta start somewhere why not here
If you gotta start sometime why not now
If we gotta start somewhere I say here
If we gotta start sometime I say now”
Yesterday is gone and tomorrow may be too late. Now is the time to re-ignite the flame. Now is the time to start over. Now is the time to be that person you want to be.
Impossible is Nothing.
