John Tumuti Nganga Killed By Hit and Run Car in Woodbridge Virginia
On the night of December 10th, 2019 at 7.09 p.m Eastern Time, the Prince Williams
County Police Force received an emergency call that a man had been involved in a “hit-
and-run” accident in Woodbridge, Virginia.
The exact location of this incident was anintersection on Caton Hill Rd. Upon reviewing the documents recovered on the scene,the man was identified as John Tumuti Nganga. He was transferred to the Trauma Intensive Care Unit at Fairfax Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at 10.15 p.m the same night. John had suffered severe brain damage and efforts by the Doctors to revive him from his coma did not succeed. He was only 30 years of age.

John Tumuti Nganga was son to Reverend Dr. James Nganga Njoroge and Margret
Nduta Nganga. He was brother to Sarah Njeri Nganga and Pastor Ibrahim Abby
Njoroge. He was uncle to Sarafina Wambui Njoki Nganga and Nia Njoroge. Tumuti was
Brother-In-Law to Nelson Mike M. Muriuki and Makena Njoroge
Criminal Investigation
The Prince Williams Police Force has opened a criminal investigation to determine who
was responsible for John’s death. According to an eye witness, the vehicle was
described as a “red Sedan”. Below is the PWC Police press report that has been

Fatal Crash Investigation | Hit and Run – On December 10 at 7:15PM, officers
responded to the area of Caton Hill Rd. and Telegraph Rd. in Woodbridge (22192)
to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian. The investigation revealed that the
driver of a red sedan was traveling east on Caton Hill Rd. approaching the
intersection with Telegraph Rd. when the vehicle struck a pedestrian, identified
as a 30-year-old man. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where
he died as a result of his injuries. No other injuries were reported. The striking
vehicle fled the scene, continuing eastbound on Caton Hill Rd. towards the Prince
William County Pkwy. At this time, it remains unclear if the pedestrian was struck
within the crosswalk at the intersection or if he had the signal to cross. The
investigation continues.

The deceased pedestrian was identified as John Tumuti NGANGA, 30, of no fixed
address.
