The rock that the builders rejected (Christ)
In Recent months I spoke at our local Greenwood library. I was speaking about life in Kenya and my life as a young maasai, I mentioned about my initiation as a warrior when I had to kill a lion, I spoke about courage. I told them about the lions leap at me and how I sometimes get nightmares I think this is what the military call post traumatic syndrome a retired military friend of mine who was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam tells me of crushing a helicopter and soldiers dying and how it still haunts him at times.
At the end of my speech there was a line of people wanting to greet and thank me and a lady came with her 14 year old daughter, The little girl asked me : "Sir were you afraid when the lion tried to kill you.? I lowered myself to her level and with a big smile answered: Oh yes, I was scared to death and I was shaking but I didn’t want my warrior friends or the lion to know it because that was my day to prove to myself and to the warriors around me and to the lion that I could stand and win even if I was afraid
I also had to explain to her that the dead lion had killed a lot of maasai cattle and that nowadays we the maasai are saving the lions because there are not many of them to which she smiled and said I would like to go and see the lions.
King David in the 61st psalms says this;
Psalm 61
1Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.
2From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.
4I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.
Like fear was created to keep us alert and in action in dangerous situation, doubt was also created to keep us from making the wrong decisions, Therefore these two emotions are really not bad when under control. It is when they become the leading and deciding factors in our lives that they then become detrimental, they can lead us to the self destruct mode
They become the proverbial tree that blocks us from seeing the rest of the forest
of Gods power and Gods promise
The Choice.
Fear and doubt are good servants but bad masters
The choice is ours to either use this fear and doubt for our good or let fear and doubt lead us to our detriment
When our hearts are overwhelmed we have to ask the holy spirit to help us and to;…. lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
Song; -My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus’ Name.

Prayer
God our heavenly father I have prayed for my family and friends in my email list
Please reach out to them and deal with any problem and situation they might be in
Heavenly father supply their need according to your riches in glory whether physical or spiritual Lord be their acnhor and in time of storm
Protect them and their families and heal those that are sick keep thek safe by night and day and those travelling give safety. May the words of my mouth and the meditaions of my heart be acceptable unto thee my Lord and redeemer Amen
