A story that goes to the heart of Kikuyu culture and tradition. The county of Murang’a hosts one of the most hallowed shrines of the whole community- Known as Mukurwe wa Nyagathanga. This is the place where the first Kikuyu man, Gikuyu and his wife Mumbi are believed to have lived. The site is often called the Kikuyu Garden of Eden and as Ferdinand Omondi reports, it still retains its serenity several centuries down the road.
