It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Mrs. Avia Kavutha Mbilu.
The late Mrs. Mbilu passed away at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX on Dec. 31st, 2012 from complications following a stroke at the age of 71.
She was the wife of Major General (Retired) E. S Mbilu, former Commander of Kenya Navy. She was the loving mother to Marie Mbilu-Mumanyi, Betty Mbilu, Nancy Mbilu-Muthama, Esther Mbilu, all of Dallas, TX, Peter Mbilu and Julie Mbilu of Mombasa, Kenya.
She was the mother-in-law to Tom Mumanyi, Ken Muoki and George Muthama. She is also survived by several grandchildren.
Daily meetings are being held at Faith in Christ Church, 2530 Joefield Road – Suite 12, Dallas, TX 75229 from 6 pm.
A funeral fundraising to help offset medical costs and help with transportation of the deceased to her final resting place in Kenya will be held on Saturday Jan. 12th, 2013 at 6 pm at Christ International Church 1104-1108 Luke St. Irving, TX 75061.
