NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 30 – Coalition for Reform and Democracy (CORD) presidential candidate Raila Odinga has said he will meet alleged police impostor Joshua Waiganjo.
Addressing CORD supporters at Uhuru Park on Wednesday afternoon, Odinga said he will meet Waiganjo to uncover the rot in the police force.
“Waiganjo says he wants to meet me, and I will meet him so that I can know where the truth is. This is because there is rot in the police force, the truth has to be known, I want to clean the police force,” he said.
He explained that his action is not targeted at having individuals from specific tribes to lead but to ensure sanity of people who can change the police force to ensure security of all Kenyans.
Waiganjo’s case is already before court where he is accused of masquerading as a senior Police officer since October 2002.
Former Police Commissioner Mathew Iteere has denied ever recruiting Waiganjo when he appeared before a tribunal investigating him.
