Wednesday, the 23rd of January 2012 – News just in indicates that Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) today taken drastic steps to address the party’s chaotic nominations in Western and Nyanza.
The head of ODM National Elections Board Franklin Bett has reportedly invalidated some of the nomination certificates that were issued by the party in Western and Nyanza due to irregularities.
There is no word yet on how the party will address the problem of choosing the aspirants who will contest the seats. ODM’s constitution however allows the party to pick candidates by consensus.
The ‘clean up’ didn’t stop there though as Bett has also suspended NEB Commissioner James Ogundo and other staff members for being involved in the botched nominations.
ODM is attempting to address some of the fallouts from last week’s nominations which, according to at least some pundits, have damaged Raila’s standing in the region.
