Sonko, a youthful and outspoken politician, was received with warm hands with fans chanting his slogans.

Sonko made his debut in politics in late 2009 when he first contested for the Makadara parliamentary seat after it fell vacant.

He became a daring of many youths and a great deal of the middle class after he trounced political heavy weights including Ruben Ndolo to become the area legislator.

Since then, Sonko has created a rapore with majority of the voters in the Naironi Metropolitan County as recent polls by pollsters have indicated.

The pollsters have consistently placed Sonko at the top as the most preferred Senate Candidate with his closest challenger Bishop Margaret Wanjiru coming a distant second.

Majority of his supporters argue that he is open to all and bridges the gap between the two extreme classes; the rich and the poor.
